UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Stanford crushed school, track, and meet records in the women’s distance medley relay at the Penn State National indoor track and field meet Friday night. The Stanford team of sophomores Amy Weissenbach, Kristyn Williams, Claudia Saunders, and fifth-year senior Justine Fedronic ran 10:54.04 – the third-fastest in collegiate history. It was the fastest collegiate time in the country this year and shattered the 2009 Stanford mark of 10:58.49, set by Alicia Follmar, Idara Otu, Maria Lattanzi, and Lauren Centrowitz. The track and meet records of 10:55.95, set by Georgetown in 2012, also fell. The quartet included school-record holders Weissenbach (indoor 800), Williams (indoor 400), and Fedronic (outdoor 800), and Saunders, last year’s junior national 800 runner-up.
